'Tweens and Teens Finally Meet

Class 4-1 met their St. Edmund Preparatory High School pen pals. They were part of a program called, "Teens Teach Reading," during the 2008-2009 school year. After the initial meeting, students worked on the lesson for the day. They read fables, discussed the characteristics of the fables, and then used a creative method to write their own original fables. The fourth grades were so excited to receive letters throughout the year and meeting their pen pals is something they won't forget.

Preserving the Vision
Catholic education continues to thrive at St. Francis Xavier.
On Monday, November 24, 2008, our school children
attended a Thanksgiving Liturgy prepared by the 6th Grade.
Members of the After-School Program from Kindergarten to Grade 8 made a quilt,
which was part of the Offertory Procession.
The Student Council members, moderated by Sister
Margaret, were busy collecting food which was shared by both the St. Francis
Xavier and St. Augustine food pantries.
The 5th Grade will be preparing the
Liturgy for the Feast of St. Francis Xavier on
December 3rd at the 9 o’clock Mass.
