I would like to thank our faculty members for generously giving of their time to serve as moderators of these clubs.   They are dedicated to serving the students of St. Francis Xavier School despite their busy schedules of caring for their families and attending professional development classes.  We are truly blessed to have such a devoted faculty.

Sincerely,

Dorothy Taylor
Principal

St. Francis Xavier School Celebrates Earth Day 2011

Earth Day came a little early to St. Francis Xavier School, Park Slope.  The Student Council took to the streets for a major
clean-up.  On April 15, 2011, armed with shovels, brooms and gloves cleaned President Street.  Ms. Glodowski, the Student Council Moderator, was more than happy to lend her support to her students.  They also raised $625 for The Earth’s Birthday Project to help preserve the Rainforests by purchasing acreage in The Rainforest.

Grades 5 and 6 Celebrate Pi Day

The 14th of March has become known as Pi Day, a day to encourage students to participate in fun math events.  The Fifth and Sixth Grades classes certainly had their fun!  They had to find the circumference of various pies, donuts and cupcakes.  Once they found the circumference, they were able to eat their pie.  Apple pie was the most popular!  Cool whip was a nice added touch.

Catholic Schools Week 2011

During Catholic Schools Week we had many exciting happenings.
The winners of the Spelling Bee proudly hold up the cash that they won.
The School Crossing Guard was delighted with all the fuss that 6-2 showed her.  She appreciated the flowers and the cards from the students.  She is always there for them in rain, shine and even the snow.
Crazy sock day was a blast!  Pre K to Grade 8 showed off their crazy designs.
Decorating the doors throughout the school was lots of fun.
